University Workers Issues Fresh Fourteen Days Ultimatum to Federal Government

The long-awaited resumption of university students may be disrupted again as university workers, under the auspices of National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT have issued a 14-day strike notice to the Federal Government.

The President of NAAT, Comrade Ibeji Nwokoma, told journalists in Abuja that the Union had written to the Minister of Labour and Employment, informing him of their planned industrial action over the disparity in allocation of forty billion Naira earned allowance.

Both the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian University and the National Association of Academic Technologists have rejected the sharing formula and threatened to embark of an indefinite strike if the Federal Government should continue to give the largest chunk of the money to ASUU at the expense of the three other non-teaching unions.

The varsity workers vowed to go on strike if after the fourteen days ultimatum, the Federal Government fail to attend properly to their demands and resolve their grievances.
